About
A little about myself in case you’re interested.
Work history
I design and build usable websites, craft thoughtful graphic design, and provide reliable service and support.
I’m a graphic designer, marketer, and web developer with experience in both digital and traditional media. I have the ability to contribute during most phases of web and print projects. My experience includes discovery and planning, web design, UI and UX design, marketing strategy, brand development, data analysis, creative/art direction, content development, photography, coding, copywriting, and project management. These days, I spend most of my time designing and building websites on the WordPress platform. I love it. But I am equally content when designing logos, print campaigns, digital ads and building brands in general.

My current role
I’m currently the web designer and developer at Stride Creative Group. Since joining the team in 2012, I’ve been a primary contributor and developer on nearly 100 websites. I also currently manage an active portfolio of 80+ client sites. Our client list encompasses a range of industries, including renewable energy, construction, real estate, energy storage, municipal services, legal offices, and sports and recreation to name a few.
While I currently focus on web design and WordPress development, I also have a role in content strategy. I work directly with copywriters to incorporate impactful visuals to more richly tell a brands story. I’m a resourceful problem-solver, I approach strategic, technical and design obstacles like an unsolved puzzle.

uptime
Since joining Stride 11+ years ago, web services as a share of revenue has grown from less than 10% of revenue to nearly 65% today. We’ve worked to help local, regional, and national brands grow in a wide variety of industries including municipal, health care, legal, banking and insurance, educational, and recreational to name a few.
Early career
After graduation, I worked in magazine and ad design, eventually landing at the Burlington Free Press, where I learned the ropes in a fast-paced advertising department where I worked specifically with the Free Press’ top local business accounts. After a promotion, I transitioned to marketing, where I became the chief designer for a very talented and experienced Marketing Director in a high-volume agency setting. Together, we developed several award winning national campaigns for internal departments, local companies, and national brands. Eventually I discovered website creation and digital marketing, and became the Free Press’ first web designer and developer as part of a 2-person team who launched the original burlingtonfreepress.com, circa 2000.
After working at the Free Press I moved to Delta Marketing Group, a where I joined a team primarily focused on branding, print design, promotional items, and pick and pack document management (lots of very complicated forms… great practice!). At Delta, I worked directly with their owner to establish a successful web department which became a primary revenue generator for the company.

Education
I studied marketing, applied design, and economics as a Consumer Studies major at the University of Vermont.
Family life
Living the good life in Williston, Vermont.
I’m fortunate to be the Dad and/or husband of some of my favorite people in the world. My wife Shannon is a badass, Pilates studio-owning, RBG loving rockstar. Our kids Emma and Jami are talented, kind, smart and empathetic. I couldn’t be prouder.

This is the toughest picture I could find…
Our dog Maple is easily the most popular mammal in the family. She’s sweeter than maple candy, affectionate, a fierce defender of her sister Emma – she’ll stand up to the fiercest foe – for a few seconds before attempting to cuddle instead.
She has a face as cute as a baby harbor seal, and curly hair that doubles as a prolific dingleberry factory. Every rose has it’s thorns.
It’s hard to feel grumpy when walking her while she’s wearing her little pink puffer jacket. Emasculated? Sure. But not grumpy.
Personal
When I step away from the computer…

A mediocre mountain biker
When I’m not working with ascenders and descenders, I enjoy ascending and descending the Hills and mountains of Vermont on my mountain bike – namely, Cady Hill, Perry Hill, Saxon Hill and Hillfarmer. Bear’s Trail and Florence at Cady Hill are my happy places.
With my unique blend of mediocre mountain-biking skills, and wide-eyed love for the outdoors, It’s only a matter of time before I run into a tree while admiring the beauty of some other tree.
A lethal gardener in all the wrong ways
I’m a wildly inexperienced gardener with a knack for growing crab grass and clovers where grass should be. During the summer of 2023 I also expanded my mud development repertoire with a wide array of varieties throughout my yard and garden. I also grew a pepper once.

30+ years skiing – unimpeded by progress
When the snow flies I love to ski Smugglers Notch, Stowe, Bolton, and Okemo mountains in Vermont. My 2026 to do list includes participating in, and preferably not drowning in the annual pond skimming contest at Smugglers Notch this Spring.
